• <br />• <br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION SEPTEMBER 18, 2002 <br />Mr. Bob Bening, resident of Lino Lakes, stated the development in the area is hinged on <br />the road improvements but the Council can not agree on the road improvements. It is <br />time to move forward. <br />City Administrator Waite Smith advised the Highway 49 resolution is not on the agenda <br />for Monday night. At the last meeting the resolution was tabled to the September 23 <br />Council meeting. She asked if there is anything staff can do to the resolution so the full <br />Council will approve it. She suggested the resolution should not be put on the agenda <br />unless the full Council will approve it. <br />Councilmember Carlson stated she would like to get the letter from the County to know <br />where the City stands before the resolution is put on the Council agenda. <br />Councilmember O'Donnell stated there is nothing in the letter that will change his mind <br />about the resolution. He indicated he is supportive of the resolution. He also suggested <br />the letter that the City sent to the County in June be referenced in the resolution. <br />Councilmember Reinert stated he is not in favor of a four -lane divided highway down the <br />middle of Lino Lakes. He stated he does not like the design and will not give in. <br />It was the consensus of the Council to add the Highway 49 Resolution to the regular <br />Council agenda Monday, September 23, 2002‘6:30' .m. <br />ELM STREET/62ND AVENUE TRAF <br />MICHAEL GROCHALA <br />City Engineer Studenski advised <br />Street and 62nd Street on Monda <br />assessments and City policy reg <br />the report on Monday. <br />STUDIES, JIM STUDENSKI AND <br />be presenting the feasibility report for Elm <br />Sta; 'is working with the City Attorney on <br />g assessments. Those answers will be included in <br />City Engineer Studenski reviewed the details of both feasibility studies noting the next <br />step in the process will be to accept the study and hold a public hearing on the proposed <br />improvements. <br />Overall resident concerns are drainage issues. Most of the funding for the road will come <br />from State Aid Funds. The assessment amount for Elm Street is approximately $600,000 <br />and $500,00 for 62nd Street. There will be a lot of right-of-way acquisition necessary for <br />the 62nd Street project. He noted that currently there is not MUSA available on the south <br />end of 62nd Street. <br />This item will appear on the regular Council agenda Monday, September 23, 2002, 6:30 <br />p.m. <br />
