•1 <br />2 <br />3 Recognition of outgoing Advisory Board Members, swearing in of New Advisory Board <br />4 Members and consideration of approval for other appointments — Mayor Bergeson noted that the <br />5 Council had recognition plaques for outgoing Advisory Board Members, although neither was present <br />6 to receive the award. He indicated the awards were for Joe Zych, for service on the Planning and <br />7 Zoning Board from January, 2000 until December, 2002; and for Bill Hicks, for service on the <br />8 Economic Development Advisory Board from April, 2001 until December, 2002. <br />9 <br />10 Mayor Bergeson indicated he had a list of Advisory Board Appointees and Councilmember Liaison <br />11 Appointments to various boards for City Council approval. <br />12 <br />13 Councilmember Carlson moved to approve the recommendations for Advisory Board Members and <br />14 Councilmember Liaison positions as presented. Councilmember Reinert seconded the motion. <br />15 <br />16 Motion carried unanimously. <br />17 <br />18 Mayor Bergeson indicated he would read the names of each appointee and have them come forward <br />19 so City Attorney Hawkins could administer the oath of office. The appointees are as follows: <br />20 <br />21 Rob Rafferty Planning and Zoning <br />22 Paul Tralle Planning and Zoning <br />23 Pamela Taschuk Park and Recreation <br />•24 William Kusterman Park and Recreation <br />25 Rod Kukonen Environmental <br />26 Teresa O'Connell Environmental <br />27 Roger Jensen Economic Development Advisory Committee <br />28 Julie Jeffrey-SchwartzEconomic Development Advisory Committee <br />29 Harvey Karth Economic Development Advisory Committee <br />30 <br />31 Mayor Bergeson noted that Mr. Karth was a very active participant in local government, being a <br />32 former mayor and serving on various boards over the years. <br />33 <br />34 City Attorney Hawkins administered the oath of office to the new appointees. <br />35 <br />36 Consider Approval of Resolution 03-23, Authorizing Contracts for Mold Remediation and <br />37 Project Monitoring and Management at Civic Complex, Dan Tesch — Director of Administration <br />38 Tesch advised that during the December 16, 2002 Council meeting, the City Council authorized Staff <br />39 to advertise for bids for mold remediation in City Hall and the Police Station. He stated sealed bids <br />40 were opened at City Hall on January 28, 2003, with five bids being submitted varying from $51,470 <br />41 to $140,011. He indicated Diversified Contracting, Inc. submitted the lowest bid. The City's <br />42 consultant, Institute for Environmental Assessment, has reviewed the proposed bid and the <br />43 company's qualifications. He indicated Staff has received the required documentation from DCI <br />44 including a certificate of liability insurance and performance bond, and therefore recommends <br />45 authorization to award the contract to DCI for $51,470.00. <br />46 <br />• <br />47 Director of Administration Tesch stated that the mold remediation work is going on now, between the <br />48 hours of 5:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., and should be completed by February 11, 2003.
