Community Development Director Grochala stated
he does not believe the developer will add anything. The City can not make the
developer pay more for the project.
This item will appear on the regular Council agenda Monday, July 14, 2003, 6:30 p.m.
HOLTE POND, JIM STUDENSKI
Councilmember O'Donnell asked if staff has a date when the project will be completed.
He also inquired about staff's level of confidence that the project would be completed by
that date.
City Engineer Studenski advised staff has done everything that has been required for this
project. All information has been submitted. Staff is waiting from an answer from the
Board of Water and Soil. The Board of Water and Soil has indicated the City can bank
the wetlands. Staff is just waiting for a call from them to proceed.
Mayor Bergeson directed staff to call the Board of Water and Soil and ask when the
project can be started.
Councilmember O'Donnell requested an update be provided in the Friday updates. He
inquired about the storage on the site. He stated he thought the City had an ordinance to
cover storage on property.
Community Development Director Grochala stated there is nothing more than can be put
in the ordinance to eliminate this type of situation. He stated he does not know what is
being stored on the property in question at this time. Staff has notified the property
owner several times. Enforcement is an issue.
Councilmember O'Donnell suggested the adjoining property owner pursue a variance for
a fence.
REGULAR AGENDA, JULY 14, 2003
There were no changes to the regular agenda.
Mayor Bergeson provided a brief update regarding the Quad Cities Police Department
proposal.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:03 p.m.
These minutes were considered, corrected and approved at the regular Council meeting held on
July 28, 2003.
6
