Anoka County Commissioner, Rhonda Sivarajah <br />55 <br />56 Rhonda Sivarajah asked to take this opportunity to introduce herself, noting she has previously met <br />57 some of the Council members, but not all of them. She indicated she is available if they need any <br />58 assistance on a County level, and will leave her cards so the Council can contact her. She looks <br />59 forward to working with Lino Lakes in growing the community. She stated she met with some of the <br />60 Lino Lakes staff today and received an update on the development that is taking place. She provided <br />61 an update on the Rice Lake Regional Park Preserve Development, noting they will be adding up to <br />62 1,000 acres, which they were able to accomplish with resolutions of support from the Lino Lakes City <br />63 Council as well as Columbus Township. She advised funds from the Metropolitan Council and Rice <br />64 Lake Watershed District will be used for the project, and they hope to have 600 acres acquired next <br />65 month. She thanked the Council for their support, and reiterated she looks forward to working with <br />66 the city. <br />67 <br />68 Councilmember Carlson stated she is aware Commissioner Sivarajah has been attending meetings <br />69 with Lino Lakes, Hugo and Centerville on the freeway interchange issues, and she appreciates her <br />70 participation and recognition of the importance of these intersections to their cities and the safety of <br />71 their residents. <br />72 <br />• 73 B. Centennial Fire Department, Accept Donations for Safety Camp, Milo Bennett <br />74 <br />75 Fire Chief Milo Bennett advised that he is before the Council to pass on information concerning <br />76 donations they have received for their Safety Camp, scheduled for August 14th. He stated the Safety <br />77 Camp has been occurring for 10 years, and is funded strictly by donations. He indicated this year <br />78 they received two significant donations; $1500 from the Lexington Fire Relief Association and $1500 <br />79 from the Centennial Fire Relief Association, both which were made possible by charitable gambling <br />80 contributions. He invited the City Council to join them during the Safety Camp, and especially <br />81 during the graduation ceremony. <br />82 <br />83 Councilmember Dahl moved to accept the donations for the Safety Camp from the Lexington and <br />84 Centerville Fire Relief Associations.
