CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION MAY 19, 2004 <br />APPROVED <br />1 A resolution showing support for Blue Heron Days will appear on the regular Council <br />2 agenda Monday May 24, 2004, 6:30 p.m. <br />3 <br />4 LIQUOR COMPLIANCE CHECK UPDATE, CHIEF PECCHIA <br />5 <br />6 Chief Pecchia distributed and reviewed a grid that outlined the liquor compliance checks <br />7 for the last few years. He reviewed the five violations during the last liquor compliance <br />8 checks. The Police Department did receive a grant to conduct compliance checks at <br />9 liquor stores also. He noted an adult would be charged for purchasing alcohol for a minor <br />10 during the last check. Staff is recommending the Best Practices Grid be utilized in <br />11 relation to the current violations. <br />12 <br />13 The Liquor Compliance Check Violations will appear on the regular Council agenda <br />14 Monday, June 14, 2004, 6:30 p.m. <br />15 <br />16 PINE STREET RESIDENT PETITION FOR ROAD IMPROVEMENTS, JIM <br />17 STUDENSKI <br />18 <br />19 City Engineer Studenski advised the City received a petition from residents and property <br />20 owners on Pine Street to pave Pine Street from Lake Drive to 4th Street. He referred to a <br />21 copy of the petition and a map of the resident locations. <br />22 <br />23 City Engineer Studenski stated Pine Street is currently a grave road that is shared between <br />• 24 Columbus Township and Lino Lakes. The Columbus Township Town Board met <br />25 Wednesday, May 12, 2004 and directed their Town Engineer to work with Lino Lakes in <br />26 this improvement process. The Town Engineer for Columbus Township will produce a <br />27 preliminary estimate for a 24 -foot rural street with 3 inches of bituminous. <br />28 <br />29 City Engineer Studenski advised the next step would be to hold a joint neighborhood <br />30 meeting with Columbus Township and Lino Lakes to discuss the public improvement <br />31 process, the City Charter, and an overview of the construction process. Following the <br />32 neighborhood meeting, staff will give a review of the meeting to the Council. Council <br />33 would then determine if staff should prepare a feasibility study with Columbus Township. <br />34 The study will address, on a preliminary basis, design, cost, assessment, schedule and <br />35 other issues as they relate to paving the road. He noted it is staff's intent that the project <br />36 would be 100% assessed to the property owners. <br />37 <br />38 Councilmember Reinert arrived at 5:50 p.m. <br />39 <br />40 Council directed staff to proceed with a joint meeting with Columbus Township to <br />41 discuss the Pine Street improvements. <br />42 <br />43 PHEASANT HILLS 12TH ADDITION BRIDGE INFORMATION, MICHAEL <br />44 GROCHALA <br />45 Community Development Director Grochala advised Mr. Vaughan has put together a <br />46 visual of the entire length of the Pheasant Hills 12th Addition Bridge. He distributed <br />47 photos noting the view is from the south looking north. He also distributed pictures of <br />
