CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION JULY 7, 2004
APPROVED
1 Councilmember Reinert stated it seems that levies are common practice just to finance
4111 2 the regular operation of schools.
3
4 Mr. Christiansen advised there are bond levies and operating levies. The operating levy
5 was initially intended to offer enhancements to students such as lower classroom sizes.
6 Unfortunately, operating levies are now utilized for everyday costs to operate schools.
7
8 BLUE HERON DAYS UPDATE, ANN BLAIR
9
10 City Clerk Blair advised in reviewing the checklist of items which need Council action
11 prior to the upcoming "Blue Heron Days" festival, the parade permit application and the
12 5K run permit application are on Monday night's Council agenda.
