The response from the <br />Council was split. Interviewing incumbents when there is not a competitive position will <br />result in only one additional interview. There are fourteen applicants to interview and the <br />process should be determined before the applicant information is distributed. <br />It was the consensus of the Council to interview all applicants for advisory boards. <br />Council directed staff to schedule interviews immediately after the Council work sessions <br />on January 19 and February 9. The regular Council work sessions on those dates will <br />begin at 5:00 p.m. <br />REGULAR AGENDA ITEMS <br />Item 9, Community Calendar — Council directed staff to confirm a joint meeting with the <br />City of Hugo on January 20, 2005, 7:00 p.m. <br />Item 3A, First Meeting of the Year Appointments — Council noted the following changes <br />and recommendations: <br />Acting Mayor <br />YMCA Board <br />Centennial Fire Steering <br />Committee <br />Data Practices Official <br />Dan Stoltz <br />No appointment until financial agreements <br />are finalized <br />Remove Dan Stoltz and add <br />Donna Carlson <br />Ann Blair <br />Council directed staff to check on the County Corrections Program and Joint Law <br />Enforcement appointments. Council also asked staff to get a recommendation from <br />Finance Director Rolek on the Legal Depositories and the possibility of adding Bank of <br />the West. <br />Council suggested a discussion be scheduled regarding Council liaisons to City Boards as <br />well as the responsibilities of the appointed liaisons. <br />There were no other changes to the regular agenda. <br />City Administrator Heitke distributed information on the Leadership Conference for <br />Experienced Officials. He asked the Council to let Jean Viger know if anyone would like <br />to attend. He also distributed tax information on cities within the metro area. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:35 p.m. <br />These minutes were considered, corrected and approved at the regular Council meeting held on <br />January 24, 2005. <br />3 <br />
