The requested funds will be used to identify roadway
design options, evaluate the operational characteristics of selected alternatives and to
provide for community involvement in the planning process. Mr. Robert Benke, North
Metro I -35W Corridor Coalition has requested an opportunity to appear before the
Council to request a resolution supporting the legislation.

Mr. Benke provided a background of this issue noting they are working with consultants
on the reconstruction of 35W frons I-694 to Hinckley. He noted 35W south is not
included in the study area. He stated it is necessary to know what the future footprint of
I -35W will be due to future development. The proposed resolution supports the
legislation request for appropriating money for engineering for the reconstruction of I35
between I-694 and I -35W.
