COUNCIL MINUTES JULY 11, 2005 <br />APPROVED <br />288 Acting Mayor Stoltz asked if anything would be put in jeopardy if the hearing was extended for two <br />1.289 weeks. Community Development Director Grochala stated the election is within 120 days of the <br />290 public hearing and in order to put the question on the ballot, it must be submitted by a certain date. If <br />291 the public hearing is extended, Council would have to put the question on the ballot before the end of <br />292 the 60 -day waiting period or do a separate election after the general election. <br />293 <br />294 Councilmember Carlson requested the motion be withdrawn and stated she withdraws her second. <br />295 <br />296 Councilmember Dahl withdrew her motion. <br />297 <br />298 Councilmember Carlson moved to close the public hearing at 8:54 p.m. and provide all citizens on <br />299 affected streets the information requested. Councilmember Dahl seconded the motion. <br />300 <br />301 Community Development Director Grochala asked if the information requested meant the 60 -day <br />302 period process and the petition process. <br />303 <br />304 Councilmember Carlson stated this would be sufficient with contact information for those individuals <br />305 who wanted further information. <br />306 <br />307 City Administrator Heitke stated there are some questions that have no answers, i.e. when can they <br />308 subdivide. He stated Staff will make a good faith effort to answer the questions but not all of them <br />309 will be able to be answered. <br />310 <br />311 Motion carried unanimously. Mayor Bergeson abstained. <br />1312 <br />313 Mayor Bergeson resumed the chair and called a recess at 8:54 p.m. <br />314 <br />315 Mayor Bergeson reconvened the meeting at 9:01 p.m. <br />316 <br />317 C. Consideration of Resolution No. 05-93, Approving Plans and Specifications and <br />318 Authorizing Advertisement for Bids, Legacy at Woods Edge Street and Utility Project, <br />319 Mike Grochala <br />320 <br />321 Community Development Director Grochala summarized the Staff report, indicating Staff <br />322 recommends approval. <br />323 <br />324 Bob Moberg, SEH, Inc., stated if approved tonight the bid opening date would be August 11, 2005 <br />325 with a contract award date of August 25, 2005. <br />326 <br />327 Councilmember Stoltz asked if construction has become highly competitive or high priced. Mr. <br />328 Moberg stated he believes contracts are competitive and that there is a significant amount of <br />329 construction activity but contractors are still very hungry for more projects. <br />330 <br />331 Councilmember Dahl moved to adopt Resolution No. 05-93, Approving Plans and Specifications and <br />332 Authorizing Advertisement for Bids, Legacy at Woods Edge Street and Utility Project. <br />333 Councilmember Reinert seconded the motion. <br />334 <br />.335 Motion carried unanimously. <br />
