CITY COUNCIL RETREAT FEBRUARY 20-21, 2006 <br />APPROVED <br />• 47 <br />48 The workshop was reconvened on Tuesday, February 21, 2006, at 8:30 a.m. All council members <br />49 were present. <br />50 <br />51 Staff present for the remainder of the retreat: City Administrator, Gordon Heitke; Finance Director, <br />52 Al Rolek, Public Services Director, Rick DeGardner; Director of Administration, Dan Tesch; <br />53 Community Development Director, Michael Grochala; Public Safety Director, Dave Pecchia and City <br />54 Clerk, Julie Bartell. <br />55 <br />56 Carl Neu, workshop facilitator, continued to present information and facilitated discussion on <br />57 leadership. Recommendations for follow up action were formulated. <br />58 <br />59 Directions were given in the following areas: <br />60 <br />61 a) Staff to prepare a Goals and Management Action Plan for 2006-2007 identified goals; <br />62 <br />63 b) City Council Guidelines: Council Member O'Donnell and City Administrator Heitke will <br />64 develop recommendations for consideration by the City Council in April; a new format for meeting <br />65 minutes will be utilized. <br />66 <br />67 c) City Financial Review: Staff was recommending a comprehensive review of the city's <br />• 68 long-term financial situation. It was determined that it would be more appropriate to complete the <br />69 City's Five -Year Plan after such a review.
