He indicated Hartford would try to come up with alternatives to the balconies and
present those at the next Council work session.

Council Member Reinert suggested the Council move forward with the two other elements included
in the requested changes.

Mr. Jaynes agreed to move forward with the other requested changes.

Council Member Reinert withdrew the motion to table this item. Council Member O'Donnell
withdrew the second of the motion.

Council Member Reinert moved to approve Resolution No. 06-177, excluding the requested change
in regard to altering the elevations by removing the balconies and `balconettes' in favor of slider
windows. Council Member O'Donnell seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.

Council Member Reinert moved to table the issue of the removal of the balconies for action on the
November 13, 2006 City Council meeting. Council Member Stoltz seconded the motion.

City Attorney Hawkins advised the City could post a special meeting on the November 6 Council
work session if this issue is resolved and the Council would like to take action at that meeting.

Motion carried with Mayor Bergeson voting nay.

Council Member Stoltz moved to direct staff to post a special meeting on November 6, 2006 if
Council action is necessary at that meeting. Council Member Reinert seconded the motion. Motion
carried unanimously.

ADJOURN

There being no further business, Council Member Carlson moved to adjourn at 9:20 p.m. Council
• 44 Member Stoltz seconded the motion.
