COUNCIL MINUTES NOVEMBER 27, 2006 APPROVED 1 • 2 Accept Resignation of Officer Johnson — Mayor Bergeson thanked Officer Johnson for his service 3 to the City of Lino Lakes. 4 5 Council Member Carlson moved to accept Officer Quinn and Officer Johnson's resignations, as 6 presented. Council Member Stoltz seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. 7 8 PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT, DAVE PECCHIA 9 10 There was no report from the Public Safety Department. 11 12 PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT, RICK DEGARDNER 13 14 There was no report from the Public Services Department. 15 16 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT REPORT, MICHAEL GROCHALA 17 18 Consideration 2"d Reading of Ordinance No. 11-06, Rezoning Certain Real Property from R- 19 Rural to R-1, Single Family Residential, Lot 4, Block 1 Mar Don Acres (Golden Acres), Michael 20 Grochala — Community Development Director Grochala stated the City Council approved the 1st 21 reading of this ordinance on November 13, 2006 along with the variances, preliminary plat, and 22 MUSA allocation for the project titled Golden Acres. This ordinance will rezone the property to R-1 • 23 (Single Family Residential). 24 25 Council Member O'Donnell moved to approve Second Reading of Ordinance No. 11-06, as 26 presented. Council Member Reinert seconded the motion. 27 28 A roll call vote was taken: five yeas and zero nays. Motion carried unanimously. 29 30 Consider 2"d Reading of Ordinance No. 12-06, Approving the Reconveyance of Tax Forfeit 31 Property to the State of Minnesota, Michael Grochala — Community Development Director 32 Grochala stated on August 9, 2004 the City requested that Anoka County withhold from sale a tax 33 forfeited parcel so that the City could obtain the parcel for public purposes. The City wanted to retain 34 this parcel for a well, but did not use the parcel for that purpose. 35 36 Community Development Director Grochala advised an abutting landowner has inquired about 37 purchase of that parcel. In order to make that property available for private purchase, the City must 38 reconvey the land back to the State of Minnesota. Once that is complete the County will notify 39 surrounding landowners and offer it at a private sale. 40 41 Community Development Director Grochala noted the City Charter requires that disposal of any City 42 property shall be done by ordinance. 43 44 Council Member Stoltz moved to approve Second Reading of Ordinance No. 12-06, as presented. 11145 Council Member Reinert seconded the motion. 3
