There are two types 77 of kennel licenses — private for up to four dogs that are kept basically as pets, or commercial for more 78 than two dogs that are kept for commercial reasons such as boarding, grooming or breeding. 79 80 Margo Polta of 575 Ash Street has applied for a private kennel license. She was first required to 81 obtain a conditional use permit for her property. A permit was approved by the City in September of 82 2006. 83 84 The police department then conducted an inspection of her property and prepared a checklist 85 indicating that she meets the requirements of the code and understands the conditions under which a 86 kennel license can be maintained. Based on their investigation, the police department is 87 recommending approval of the license. 88 • 89 Licenses are issued on an annual basis and a public hearing is required. 90 2
