Motion carried unanimously. <br />95 <br />96 Consider Resolution No. 07-129, Accepting a grant from the Minnesota Department of <br />97 Public Safety for Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) funds - Police Chief <br />98 Pecchia explained that a grant of $20,200 has been awarded to the City of Lino Lakes to be used <br />99 to start a CERT team that will provide training and education in the area of disaster preparedness. <br />100 <br />101 Council Member Carlson moved to approve Resolution No. 07-129 as presented. Council <br />102 Member O'Donnell seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />103 <br />104 Centennial School District contract for youth service officer - Police Chief Pecchia explained <br />105 that the Police Department would like to again enter a contract with the Centennial School <br />106 District regarding provision of youth service officer services. An estimate of the costs involved <br />107 is attached to the staff report; the figures will be updated when they are finalized. Council <br />108 Member O'Donnell moved to authorize execution of the contract. Council Member Stoltz <br />109 seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />110 <br />Alk111 Consider Resolution No. 07-127, Authorizing execution of a grant agreement to receive <br />W112 Safe & Sober funds - Police Chief Pecchia explained that the State has awarded a grant to <br />113 Anoka County law enforcement agencies to participate in the Safe & Sober Program through <br />114 September 2008. The Coon Rapids Police Department has been designated to execute the <br />115 necessary agreements with area law enforcers to distribute the funds. <br />116 <br />117 Council Member Reinert moved to approve Resolution No. 07-127 as presented. Council <br />118 Member O'Donnell seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />119 <br />120 PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT, RICK DEGARDNER <br />121 <br />122 There was no report from the Public Services Department. <br />123 <br />124 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT REPORT, MICHAEL GROCHALA <br />125 <br />126 2nd Reading of Ordinance No. 09-07, Adopting the 2007 State Building Code — Building <br />127 Official Pete Kluegel explained that staff is recommending that the city update building <br />128 regulations by adopting the 2007 Minnesota State Building Code. An ordinance is before the <br />129 council for second reading that will put the code in place on a perpetual basis. An optional <br />130 chapter relating to special fire protection systems is also being recommended. <br />131 <br />132 Council Member Reinert moved to dispense with reading of the ordinance.
