APPROVED <br />1 CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />• 2 MINUTES <br />3 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />4 <br />5 DATE: : June 9, 2008 <br />6 TIME STARTED : 6:30 p.m. <br />7 TIME ENDED : 6:55 p.m. <br />8 MEMBERS PRESENT : Council Member Gallup, O'Donnell, Stoltz, <br />9 Reinert, and Mayor Bergeson <br />10 MEMBERS ABSENT : none <br />11 <br />12 STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT: City Administrator, Gordon Heitke; City Attorney, Scott <br />13 Baumgartner; Director of Public Safety, Dave Pecchia; Director of Public Services, Rick <br />14 DeGardner, City Clerk, Julie Bartell <br />15 PUBLIC COMMENT <br />16 There was no one present for public comment. <br />17 SETTING THE AGENDA <br />18 The agenda was approved as presented. <br />•19 SPECIAL PRESENTATION <br />20 State Representative Paul Gardner gave an update on the most recently state legislative session <br />21 and issues that affect Lino Lakes. He presented the council with a written update that he <br />22 reviewed. The issues reviewed were the transportation bill, funding for the Rice Creek Regional <br />23 Trail, funding for a regional library in Lino Lakes, the fight against a proposed fiscal disparities <br />24 subsidy for the Mall of America, more relief to property tax payers in the form of more funding <br />25 for the property tax refund as opposed to the originally proposed increase to local government <br />26 aid that would not help Lino Lakes, and the levy limits that will be imposed on cities. <br />27 CONSENT AGENDA <br />28 Council Member O'Donnell moved to approve the Consent Agenda. Council Member Stoltz <br />29 seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br />30 <br />31 Special recognition and thanks was given to Recreation Supervisor Liz Benoit who is resigning <br />32 her position. <br />33 <br />34 ITEM ACTION <br />35 <br />36 Consideration of Expenditures: <br />37 June 9, 2008 (Check No. 83038 through 83138), $491,992.07 Approved <br />38 Centennial Fire District (Check No. 3266 through 3275), $9,011.73 Approved <br />39 <br />W40 May 27, 2008 Council Work Session Minutes Approved <br />-1- <br />
