RECREATION DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Agenda Item 10
Date: March 2, 2015
To: Park Board
From: Brian Hronski and Tanya Mozingo — Recreation Supervisors
RE: Recreation Department Updates
2015 Year -to -Date Recreation Program Updates
• FaII/Winter Senior adult trips included performances such as "The Buddy Holly
Story", "Outside Mullingar", "Radio Man" and average of 30 people attend these
trips. More day trips and theater outings are planned through August.
• Breakfast with Santa had another successful run. A continental breakfast was
served to families before they took their picture with Santa, completed crafts and
decorated gingerbread cookies.
• Santa was busy again this year writing approximately 200 letters to children and
adults, making their holiday season a little brighter.
• The Secret Holiday Shop was back for two nights in December. 110 shoppers
found the perfect gift for their family and friends.
• Snow Day was held the last weekend in January. We had just enough snow for
this collaborative event and enjoyed a decent turnout.
• Sweetheart Party was a success in February with over 100 children and their
dates in attendance. The event featured crafts, treats, and a DJ.
• Super Hero Carnival was held this past weekend. 120 children dressed up as
their favorite super hero and enjoyed a morning of carnival games, face painting
and ice cream.
Page 1 1
