COUNCIL MINUTES February 23, 2.014 <br />APPROVED <br />136 <br />137 6C) Resolution No. 15-16, Approving Plans and Specifications and Authorizing <br />138 Advertisement for Bids for the 2015 Reconstruction Project for the Shenandoah Neighborhood - <br />139 City Engineer Hankee reviewed the streets included in the project. The project was authorized by <br />140 city voters and the estimated cost is just under the approved budget. There have been neighborhood <br />141 meetings held that have been well attended; a project website is also in place. She discussed plans for <br />142 the cul de sacs in the area as well as storm water improvements. <br />143 <br />144 Mayor Reinert noted that he attended the first public hearing and heard good information and <br />145 questions. It's good to see that there is finally a way to get this work done. <br />146 <br />147 Council Member Stoesz asked staff about utility upgrades that could be done as part of the project; <br />148 Ms. Hankee will include that discussion with utilities companies as the project goes forward. <br />149 <br />150 Council Member Roeser moved to approve Resolution No. 15-16 as presented. Council Member <br />151 Kusterman seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote <br />152 <br />153 6D) Resolution No. 15-17, Approving Plans and Specifications and Authorizing <br />154 Advertisement for Bids for the Birch/Centerville Road Street and Trunk Utility Improvements - <br />155 City Engineer Hankee explained that staff would like to move forward on the process for <br />156 improvements needed to provide sewer and water services to the city properly where the new fire <br />157 station will be located and also for future improvements on around that site. She reviewed the <br />158 estimated cost and project schedule. The project will be coordinated with construction on the fire <br />159 station facility. The construction costs do not include engineering fees. A portion of the cost of this <br />160 project will be borne by the abatement bonds discussed earlier and also some funding through the <br />161 trunk utility fund. <br />162 <br />163 Council Member Roeser moved to approve Resolution No. 15-17 as presented. Council Member <br />164 Kusterman seconded the motion.
