COUNCIL MINUTES <br />APPROVED <br />February 23, 2014 <br />91 4C) Public Safety Department Update <br />92 - Fire Station — a contract for construction will be considered by the council this evening; the <br />93 project is on schedule and slightly under budget; <br />94 - Recruiting and Training for Firefighters — five paid on-call firefighters are entering training; <br />95 the department is currently backgrounding six applicants; three applicants are in the process of <br />96 filling out their applications. Training continues for those already in the process. A <br />97 recruitment flyer and signage at the new station site have been developed interest. The <br />98 department will be holding an open house in March; <br />99 - Fire Equipment — all large apparatus is on board now with the purchase of the new trucks <br />100 approved and staff is working on the graphics and additional equipment needs for the two new <br />101 trucks.
