quality of the executed work of the Contractor(s), and to determine if such work is <br />proceeding in accordance with the contract documents. During such visits and on <br />the basis of the on-site observations, the Engineer will keep the City informed of <br />the progress of the work and will endeavor to identify for the City defects and <br />deficiencies in the work of the Contractor(s). This agreement does not require the <br />Engineer to evaluate contractor's safety methods. It is agreed that safety matters <br />are Contractor's responsibility and that the Engineer shall be responsible only for <br />the acts or omissions of its own employees. The Engineer may disapprove work <br />as failing to conform to the contract documents. The Engineer shall not have <br />control or charge of and shall not be responsible for construction means, methods, <br />techniques, sequences or procedures, or for safety precautions and programs in <br />connection with the work. The Engineer shall be obligated, however, to disclose <br />known dangerous circumstances to the City. <br />C.6.4 Review samples, schedules, shop drawings, the result of tests and inspections, and <br />other data which the Contractor is required to submit, but only for the <br />conformance with the design concept of the project and compliance with the <br />information given in the contract documents, (but such review shall not extend to <br />means, methods, sequences, techniques, or procedures of construction or to safety <br />precautions and programs incidental thereto).
