STAFF ORIGINATOR: <br />MEETING DATE: <br />TOPIC: <br />VOTE REQUIRED: <br />AGENDA ITEM lE <br />Lisa Hogstad-Osterhues, Deputy Clerk <br />March 10, 2014 <br />Consider Adoption of Resolution No. 14-17, <br />Approving an application for a Temporary On -Sale <br />Liquor License for the Chain of Lakes Rotary Club <br />Simple Majority (3/5 Vote Required) <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The Chain of Lakes Rotary Club has scheduled their 3rd Annual Chain of Giving <br />fundraising event. The event is scheduled for Sunday, April 5, 2014 to be held at St. <br />Joseph's Church, 171 Elm Street. The Chain of Lakes Rotary Club is requesting <br />approval of a 1 to 4 Day Temporary On -Sale Liquor License to allow a cash bar as part of <br />their catered dinner. <br />BACKGROUND <br />This type of license requires submission of an application to the city, that the request <br />meets city ordinance requirements, and also that a background check be completed on the <br />license applicant. Staff has reviewed the application and background and found no <br />reason to deny the license. <br />A copy of the application and the results of the background check are on file in the city <br />clerk's office. The license fee has been paid, and a Certificate of Liability Insurance as <br />required by the Department of Public Safety, Alcohol & Gambling Division has been <br />submitted. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve Resolution No. 14-17 approving the Chain of Lakes Rotary Club application for <br />a temporary on -sale liquor license. <br />
