CITY OF LINO LAKES COUNTY OF ANOKA RESOLUTION NO. 14-86 APPROVING A SPECIAL EVENT AND PARADE PERMIT FOR BLUE HERON DAYS, AUGUST 15-16-17, 2014 WHEREAS, the Lino Lakes summer celebration, Blue Heron Days, is planned for the weekend of August 15-16-17, 2014; and WHEREAS, the schedule for this year's festival includes a 5K Run, a grand day parade on Lake Drive, city ambassador program with coronation ceremony, a petting zoo, CERT Team Blood Drive, Centennial Fire Open House, Magic Bounce inflatables, a business expo, kiddie carnival, family movie night, live music, YMCA Splash and Dash, free comfort yoga, Tavern on Main Street Dance and Waldoch Farm garden tour. WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes is sponsoring many festival events and has submitted an application for a special event and parade permit in conjunction with all the events; WHEREAS, said permit applications were reviewed for compliance with the City of Lino Lakes Code of Ordinances and for safety considerations by city administration, police, fire and public works divisions; and WHEREAS, Anoka County has approved a special roadway use permit to allow for parade activities on Lake Drive on August 16, 2014 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes, Minnesota: That the City Council hereby approves the special event and parade/run applications for the 2014 Blue Heron Days festival subject to ongoing efforts to ensure proper safety, signage and related issues. Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 28th day of July, 2014.
