Mayor Reinert noted that part of this is driven by labor contracts that call
for wage recognition when duties are increased. This will be a temporary situation and he is
appreciative that staff is willing to cover these duties as is currently necessary.

The council received an update on the process for filling the Finance Director position. Council
Member Kusterman recommended that the city reach out past just governmental finance persons in
seeking applicants. There could be qualified individuals working in a government auditing capacity
or even accounting firms that include services to municipalities. When asked if he'd like to review
applications, Council Member Kusterman responded that he'd be glad to help but he does trust staff
to handle the process.

Council Member Roeser moved to approve the temporary wage increase recommended for Ms.
Schloer and Ms. Thoma.
