Chapter 1010 Signs <br />Summary of Changes: <br />October 2014 <br />General: The Sign Code section has been modified to improve organization. Two new sections have been <br />created from the existing code; Non -Conforming Signs and Prohibited Signs. <br />1010.001 Purpose, Intent and Findings <br />Subpart (1)(g) was amended to include temporary commercial speech and off -premise signs for special events. <br />Subpart (2)(h) included the addition of the word "speech". <br />1010.02 Definitions <br />The term Advertising Sign was changed to Off -Premise sign. <br />A definition for Facade was added. <br />The definition for Portable Sign was amended. <br />The definition for Sign Area was amended. <br />The definition for Temporary Signs was amended. <br />1010.003 Administration and Enforcement. <br />The terms temporary and permanent was added to clarify permit requirements for signs. <br />Permit fee requirement was placed in a new subpart. The double permit fee penalty was moved from Section <br />1010.009 and placed in this subpart. <br />A permit is no longer required for maintenance of a sign unless it is altered, for example to change color, copy or <br />structural elements. <br />1010.004 Non -Conforming Signs <br />This section previously covered Dynamic Signs which are now covered in section 1010.006, Non -Conforming <br />Sign requirements were previously included in Section 1010.006 General Regulations. No language was <br />changed. <br />1010.005 Prohibited Signs. <br />This section previously covered Zoning District Regulations which are now covered in section 1010.008. <br />Prohibited Signs were previously enumerated in section 1010.006 General Regulations and intermixed with <br />other provisions. <br />1 <br />
