HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION. A community association, other than a condominium
<br />association, which is organized in a development in which individual owners share common
<br />interests in open space or facilities.
<br />HORTICULTURE. The use of land for the growing or production for income of fruits,
<br />vegetables, flowers, nursery stock, including ornamental plants and trees, and cultured sod.
<br />Horticulture is a type of agricultural use.
<br />HOUSEBOAT. A watercraft vessel having a super structure resembling a house, usually
<br />moored, designed and used as a dwelling.
<br />IMPERVIOUS SURFACE. An artificial or natural surface through which water, air or
<br />roots cannot penetrate.
<br />INDIVIDUAL SEWAGE TREATMENT SYSTEM OR INDIVIDUAL SEWAGE
<br />DISPOSAL SYSTEM. A sewage treatment system, or part thereof, serving a dwelling, or other
<br />establishment, or group thereof, and using sewage tanks followed by soil treatment and disposal
<br />or using advanced treatment devices that discharge below final grade. Individual sewage
<br />treatment system includes holding tanks and privies (per Minnesota Rules 7080).
<br />INDUSTRIAL PARK. A large tract of land that has been planned, developed and operated
<br />as an integrated facility for a number of individual industrial uses, with special attention to
<br />circulation, parking, utility needs, aesthetics, and compatibility.
<br />INTERIM USE. A temporary use of property until a particular date, until the occurrence
<br />of a particular event, or until zoning regulations no longer allow said use.
<br />IRRIGATION SYSTEM. Any structure or equipment, mechanized or other, used to
<br />supply water for landscaping, vegetation, commercial agriculture or horticulture, including, but
<br />not limited to, wells, pumps, motors, pipes, culverts, gates, dams, ditches, tanks, ponds, and
<br />reservoirs.
<br />JUNK YARD. Any area, lot, land, parcel, building or structure or part thereof used for the
<br />storage, collection, processing, purchase, sale or abandonment of wastepaper, rags, scrap metal
<br />or other scrap or discarded goods, materials, machinery or two (2) or more unregistered,
<br />inoperable motor vehicles or other type of junk.
<br />KENNEL, COMMERCIAL. Any structure or premises on which dogs are kept for the
<br />business of boarding for a fee, for the business of breeding for sale or other profit-making
<br />purpose, and not solely for private enjoyment.
<br />KENNEL, PRIVATE. Any structure or premises on which 4 (four) dogs, over six months
<br />of age, are kept for private enjoyment and not for monetary gain.
