Council Member Bergeson introduced the following resolution and moved its
adoption.
CITY OF LINO LAKES
Ordinance No. 16-97
AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING THE LINO LAKES CODE BY
EXTENDING EXISTING LICENSES AND PROVIDING FOR A TERMINATION DAYE
OF DECEMBER 31, 1997 FOR RESIDENTIAL HAULER'S LICENSE.
The City Council of the City of Lino Lakes ordains that the Lino Lakes Code is amended
as follows:
SECTION 1. DECLARATION OF NEED FOR EMERGENCY ORDINANCE.
By a previous ordinance the City Council has adopted a residential organized solid
waste collection system. That system takes effect January 1, 1998. Licenses issued
under the existing system expire June 1, 1997. No provision exists for extension of
existing licenses. Council finds it is necessary to authorize the extension of existing
licenses in order to provide for a continuation of residential solid waste collection
services and to avoid the obvious harm to the public peace, health, morals, safety and
welfare which would be caused by a lapse in the colleciton of residential solid waste.
SECTION 2. RESIDENTIAL SOLID WASTE COLLECTION LICENSE.
Section 507.04, Subd. 1A, be amended to include the following new subpart (G).
(G) Licenses for residential solid waste colleciton issued and valid for
the period of June 1, 1996 through May 30, 1997, expiring on June
1, 1997, are hereby extended for a period of six (6) months with
the new termination date of December 31, 1997. An application
for a new license to commence June 1, 1997 shall be made in the
same manner as otherwise provided herein.
SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE. The effective date of the amended ordinance herein
shall be May 30, 1997.
PASSES this 27th day of May, 1997, by the Lino Lakes City Council.
John Landers, Mayor
Attest:
Marilyn Ande son, Clerk
