• <br />• <br />• <br />PAGE 10 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 03 — 90 <br />(1) <br />Density Tests. Density tests <br />will be taken on the subbase <br />and base courses by a qualified <br />testing laboratory. <br />(2) Test Rolling. This work shall <br />consist of testing the bearing <br />capacity of the subgrade prior <br />to gravel base construction by <br />rolling with heavy equipment. <br />Test rolling equipment shall be <br />in accordance with Mn/DOT <br />Specification 2111.2 or the <br />contractor may use a loaded <br />dump truck which will deliver a <br />minimum load of nine (9) tons <br />per axle. Test rolling shall <br />be performed when the grading <br />is completed within 0.1 foot of <br />the grade staked by the <br />Engineer and shall cover the <br />entire top width of the <br />pavement structure. Test <br />rolling shall be performed only <br />when the Engineer and <br />Contractor mutually agree that <br />the subgrade is acceptable for <br />test rolling. <br />(3) <br />Concrete Air Test. Air tests <br />will be taken by a qualified <br />testing laboratory. <br />(4) Concrete Cylinder. Concrete <br />cylinders will be cast and the <br />compressive strength determined <br />by a qualified testing <br />laboratory. <br />(5) <br />Bituminous Samples. Bituminous <br />samples shall be taken during <br />placement and tested by a <br />qualified testing laboratory to <br />check the bituminous content, <br />gradation and Marshall density <br />of the bituminous material. <br />(6) Test Frequencies. Test <br />frequencies shall be determined <br />by the City Engineer or Public <br />Works Director. With the <br />exception of test rolling <br />(paragraph (2)), a minimum of <br />
