• • • CITY OF LINO LAKES COUNTY OF ANOKA Ordinance No. 17 — 87 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY CODE, APPENDIX B, ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, BY AMENDING SUBDIVISION 4, SECTION (4) DESIGN STANDARDS, ITEM (G) BUILDING DESIGN The City Council of the City of Lino Lakes, Anoka County, Minnesota, does ordain: I. Ordinance No. 2 of the City of Lino Lakes, Anoka County, Minnesota, passed by the City Council on May 24, 1983, is hereby amended by deleting the current language in Subd. 4, Section (4) (G) (i) (ii) and adding the following language: (G) Building Design 1. It is not the intent of the City to restrict design freedom when reviewing project architecture in connection with commercial and industrial site and building plans. However, it is in the best interest of the City to pro- mote high standards of architectural design and compatibility with surrounding structures and neighborhoods. Architectural plans should be prepared by an architect or other qualified person and shall be acceptable to the City Planning and Zoning Board and City Council. The plans shall show the following: (1) elevations of all sides of the building (2) type and color of exterior materials (3) floor plans (4) dimensions and locations of all structures (5) location of trash containers and of heating and air conditioning equipment (6) parking and storage areas (7) landscaping (8) sign location and detail including size and coloring 2. All buildings erected on land within the commercial and industrial zoning districts shall be of wood frame, steel, reinforced concrete, masonry or an equivalent or better material. No building shall have pole barn type construction nor an exterior wall surface of sheet metal. Exterior wall surfaces of all buildings shall be face brick, glass, stone, decorative block, architectural concrete cast in place, pre -cast concrete panel, or archi- tectural metal panel. Wood may be used as a trim material.
