• <br />• <br />L. <br />Signs which become unsafe or unkempt in appearance shall be <br />repaired or removed by the licensee upon notification by the <br />Zoning Official. <br />M. The source of light for any sign must be indirect or diffused <br />and shall not be directed into any adjoining residential district. <br />N. Real estate development signs or construction site signs may be <br />erected providing they do not exceed one hundred (100) square <br />feet of area, are not more than fifteen (15) feet above grade, <br />and not within one hundred (100) feet of an existing residential <br />structure. <br />O. Directional signs up to four (4) square feet are allowed up to <br />ten (10) feet above grade provided they are not erected adjacent <br />to any residential streets. <br />P. Temporary real estate signs advertising the sale of individual <br />residences shall not require a permit if they are under six (6) <br />square feet. <br />Q. Temporary signs advertising buildings or land for rent or for <br />sale in all districts may be placed on such property providing <br />such signs are not closer than ten (10) feet to any property <br />line and do not exceed forty (40) square feet in industrial <br />areas and fifteen (15) square feet in other areas. <br />R. Projecting signs which extend over public property are prohibited. <br />S. Roof signs are prohibited. <br />T. The exposed uprights, superstructure or back side of all signs <br />must be painted a neutral color such as light blues, grays, greens <br />or browns, unless such part of the sign is integral to the overall <br />design of the sign. <br />U. No sign shall be painted on, attached to, or affixed to any trees, <br />rocks or other similar organic or inorganic natural matter. <br />V. All signs including temporary and portable over six (6) square <br />feet in size shall require a sign permit. Portable signs are <br />allowed for only a 30 -day period in a single location. <br />W. Any Conditional Use application related to a sign exceeding six <br />(6) square feet in area and/or thirty (30) feet in height shall <br />not be granted until detailed plans therefore are filed with <br />the Zoning Official, reviewed by the Planning and Zoning Commis- <br />sion, and approved by the City Council. <br />X. For the purpose of this Ordinance, maximum square footage of a <br />sign shall be computed on the basis of one (1) face of any <br />multi -faced sign. <br />-12- <br />
