Parking Space. A space for the parking of a motor vehicle within a public or <br />private parking area. <br />Party Wall. A common shared wall between two (2) separate structures, <br />buildings, or dwelling units. <br />Permitted Use. Any use allowed in a zoning district and subject to the <br />restrictions applicable to that zoning district. <br />Planned Unit Development. An area of a minimum contiguous size, as <br />specified by ordinance, to be planned and developed as a single entity containing <br />one or more residential clusters or planned residential developments and/or one <br />or more public, quasi -public, commercial or industrial areas in such ranges of <br />ratios of non-residential uses to residential uses as shall be specified. <br />Play and Recreational Facilities. Equipment customary and incidental to the <br />principal use of the site intended for the enjoyment and convenience of the <br />residents of the principal use and their occasional guests. Such facilities include <br />swing sets, play sculptures, sand boxes, picnic tables, basketball standards, <br />barbeque grills and the like. <br />Principal Use. The primary or predominant use of any lot and/or building. <br />Public Waters. As defined in Minnesota Statutes section 103G.005, <br />subdivision 15: <br />1. Public Waters, General Development. Those waters whose shores are <br />generally characterized by medium density residential development with or <br />without limited service -oriented commercial development. <br />2. Public Waters, Natural Environment. Generally small, often shallow lakes <br />with limited capacities for assimilating the impacts of development and <br />recreational use. They often have adjacent lands with substantial <br />constraints for development such as high water tables, exposed bedrock, <br />and unsuitable soils. These lakes, particularly in rural areas, usually do <br />not have much existing development or recreational use. <br />3. Public Waters, Recreational Development. Generally medium sized lakes <br />of varying depths and shapes with a variety of landform, soil and ground <br />water situations on the lands around them. They often are characterized <br />by moderate levels of recreational use and existing development. <br />Development consists mainly of seasonal and year round residences and <br />recreational -oriented commercial uses.
