7300 WEST 147TH STREET SUITE 504 APPLE VALLEY, MN 55124-7580 (952) 431-4433 MEMORANDUM: PROJECT: CNH NO: DATE: TO: SUBJECT: Lino Lakes Fire Station 14045 July 19, 2015 City of Lino Lakes - Mayor and City Council Change Order #01 Review 027 The following is a summary of the items being submitted as Change Order #01 for the Lino Lakes Fire Station. Background: There are three items included in the proposed Change Order #01 labeled as Proposal Request #01, #02 and #03 which will be defined below. All three of these items are related to requirements placed on the project by Rice Creek Watershed District and Anoka County after the project was bid and contracts were signed. Due to the critical timeline of the Fire Station design and the slower submittal process for Rice Creek Watershed District along with the inability to finalize wetland delineations outside of the growing season, the design and bidding needed to continue while these two agencies reviews were in process knowing that these approvals would be finalized this late Spring before they would have impact on the construction schedule. The final determinations from these agencies, primarily RCWD, required several modifications to the internal road design, wetland mitigation and the stormwater treatment mostly as related to the turn lane designs. Scope of Changes: The main changes are incorporated in the attached Proposal Request #01 and are summarized by the following bullet points: • Move the eastern half of the internal road to the south 7'-0" to increase the wetland buffer distance along the existing wetland delineated at that area and provide additional area for snow storage. • Raise the bottom elevation of all stormwater basins to provide additional separation between basins and groundwater elevation. Increase size of some basins to compensate for reduced depth and add additional draintile piping below basin. • Increase amount of riprap and erosion control blankets provided to satisfy RCWD recommendations. • Add one manhole at stormwater pipe from fire station roof rainwater. Proposal Request #02 adjusts the seeding of basins and new wetlands to change to RCWD recommended seed mix and switches planting mulch from trap rock to hardwood mulch. Proposal Request #03 further adjusts the sizes of several of the stormwater basins to meet Anoka County stormwater concerns resulting in less excavation at these locations.
