COUNCIL MINUTES October 12, 2015 <br />APPROVED <br />90 Mayor Reinert stated that the council had a good discussion at their work session about this contract <br />91 and the services provided by Robb Olson. He noted that the council brought Mr. Olson on a few <br />92 years ago and his work has been excellent. The mayor is comfortable with the five year agreement. <br />93 <br />94 Council Member Kusterman moved to approve the contract as presented. Council Member Roeser <br />95 seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br />96 <br />97 4B) Public Safety Department Update — Public Safety Director Swenson provided the following <br />98 update: <br />99 <br />100 - Fire Station Project — Landscaping on the site is underway; glass will be going into the garage <br />101 doors; work inside the facility is in progress; <br />102 - Training — one group is in the process of training at Century College and will finish in <br />103 December; in-house training continues every Monday; <br />104 - Staffing — there are currently 32 certified firefighters, seven in training and five in the <br />105 background process <br />106 <br />107 PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />108 <br />109 There was no report from the Public Services Department. <br />110 <br />111 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />112 <br />113 6A) Resolution No. 15-113, Approving the Joint Powers Agreement between the City of Lino <br />114 Lakes and the City of Centerville Regarding West Cedar Street Paving — City Engineer Hankee <br />115 explained that Cedar Street will be paved as part of the NorthPointe Development. Since a portion of <br />116 that street is utilized for the Centerville Public Works Facility, that city will contribute towards the <br />117 cost of the improvement. A joint powers agreement is proposed to cover the terms of that <br />118 contribution. <br />119 <br />120 Council Member Roeser moved to approve Resolution No. 15-113 as presented. Council Member <br />121 Rafferty seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br />122 <br />123 6B) Chapter 1007, Zoning Code Amendment — <br />124 i. Consider 2nd Reading of Ordinance No. 08-15, Text Amendment for Veterinary <br />125 Hospitals; <br />126 ii. Consider Resolution No. 15-114, Approving Summary Publication of Ordinance <br />127 No. 08-15 <br />128 <br />129 Community Development Director Grochala explained that the text amendment is coming forward for <br />130 consideration because the city has received a request from a local business owner who would like to <br />131 relocate due to expansion. The relocation would not be allowed under the current zoning of <br />132 Neighborhood Business so discussion was initiated to add the business use, veterinary hospital, to <br />133 allowed uses in that zoning district. The council approved the first reading of the ordinance on <br />134 September 28. <br />3 <br />
