AGENDA ITEM NO. 6A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: September 10, 2001 <br />TOPIC: Consideration of Resolution 01-128, Accepting <br />Donations for Skate Park Pad <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Skate Park at City Hall Park has been operational since August 27, 2001. Twenty <br />Thousand dollars of Park Dedication Funds were designated to purchase a variety of <br />skate park equipment including a 9' wide quarter pipe, 6' wide wedge attached to a 3' <br />wide quarter pipe, fun box, 4' wide jump, and a straight -round rail. <br />Donations were received from the following to fund the construction of a 60' x 80' <br />bituminous pad: <br />Forest Lake Area Athletic Association (FLAAA) $2,000 <br />Friends of the Park Foundation $1,000 <br />Lino Lakes VFW Auxiliary $1,000 <br />Lino Lakes Lions Club $ 750 <br />Centennial Fire District $ 500 <br />Mr. Kieger and area youth $ 430 <br />Lino Lakes VFW $ 300 <br />Lino Lakes State Bank $ 250 <br />Community National Bank $ 200 <br />Custom Remodelers $ 100 <br />$6,530 <br />On behalf of the City Council, Park Board, city staff, and area youth, I would like to <br />extend our appreciation to the area businesses and groups who contributed financially <br />to make this project a reality. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1.
