Department of Public Safety
POLICE
David J. Pecchia
Public Safety Director / Chief of Police
Officer Mike Rumpsa
Lino Lakes Police Department
01/21/02
CPTED Reviews
I have reviewed the plans for the Behm Century farm edition, Stoneybrook edition, TCF
bank, and the Marketplace 2nd Addition. I have several comments.
Behm Century Farms Edition: ----— — .___... __... - .----..---. __ _......
• The street names are going to be confusing. For instance: At the present time, we
already have a Pony Ct that intersects Mustang Lane.
• I see from the plans, A Pony Lane and Pony Ct are planned to gain access to
Sunset Ave.
• This is going to cause confusion for Police, Fire and Ambulance.
• I have noticed that Pinto Lane has several small cul-de-sacs. Each of these cul-
de-sacs has a different name. I suggest, if possible, to eliminated Pinto Court and
have those houses keep the Pinto Lane Street name. It appears to me that the lot's
south of Pinto Cove will not be buildable lots, and this will lessen the clutter of
street names we have for this development.
• The new "Mustang" Street names are going to cause confusion because Mustang
Ct and Mustang Lane have already been used for street names south of Palomino
Lane.
• The Mustang Lane, Avenue, Cove, Circle and Mustang Way should be renamed
to eliminate any chance of confusion for emergency personnel.
• I understand that the land developer wants to maximize his/her land usage, but by
looking at the layout of the streets and the names that were assigned to roads, I
see utter confusion for emergency personnel.
Stoneybrook Edition:
• At the present time, the only concern that I have for the development, is the traffic
load that it will pose to Birch St for morning rush hour.
• Much of the traffic heads east on Birch Street to Centerville Rd then south to
I35E. '
• I would recommend a semaphore at the intersection of Birch St and Centerville
Rd to help manage the congestion problem.
640 Town Center Parkway • Lino Lakes, Minnesota • 55014-1182
Public Administration/Records: 651-982-2300 • Fax: 651-982-2399
