PROPERTY & CODE VIOLATION SUMMARY <br />6966 and 6970 Lake Drive <br />Per Land Use Application for Rezoning submitted by the Stanek's in January 2015 <br />• November 1994: <br />o Robert Stanek acquired 6970 Lake Drive/PID # 19-31-2-41-0005 <br />• March 2013: <br />o Stanek's inquired at city hall if they could have goats on their property <br />o A CSO informed them they could have goats, horses etc. <br />o there is no record of this conversation on file with the Police Department <br />o Stanek's proceeded to construct a 50' x 100' fence, 3'x 4'goat shelter and 7' x 7' <br />chicken shack <br />• July 2013: <br />o Robert and Carol Stanek acquired 6966 Lake Drive/PID #19-31-22-41-0006 <br />• Spring 2014: <br />o Installed 150'x200' fence pen <br />o Installed 160' x 200' fence pen <br />o Constructed 20' x 20' horse shelter <br />Subsequent Information <br />• September 2014: <br />o Patrick Moonen, Building Official, observed a structure on 6966 Lake Drive <br />illegally constructed without a building permit <br />o Code Enforcement Letter mailed for construction without a permit and illegal <br />accessory structures <br />o Patrick Moonen and Katie Larsen, City Planner, met with Stanek's to discuss the <br />issues <br />o It was also explained to them that farm animals are not allowed in R-1 zoning <br />district and the lot combination is required to allow for accessory structures on <br />adjacent lot <br />• January 2015: <br />o Stanek's submitted Land Use Application requesting rezoning of their properties <br />from R-1, Single Family Residential to R, Rural <br />• March 2015: <br />o Rezoning denied per Council Resolution #15-21 <br />o Council directed staff to research ordinance amendment that would allow for <br />keeping of farm animals in residential zoning districts <br />12/2/15 1 <br />
