B. Aggregate Shouldering: Conform to MnDOT Spec. 3138, Class 2 aggregate. <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.01 PREPARATION <br />A. Prepare the subgrade in accordance with Section 31 23 13. <br />B. Subgrade to be completed and approved by the Engineer prior to installation of <br />aggregate base. <br />3.02 CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS <br />A. Conform to MnDOT Spec. 2211.3 <br />****** [OR] ****** <br />1. Compaction shall be done by the Quality Compaction Method. <br />****** [OR] ****** <br />2. Install aggregate base in accordance with details on Drawings. <br />3. Deliver weight tickets to Engineer daily. <br />3.03 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL <br />A. The Owner shall have an independent testing laboratory sample the aggregate base <br />materials, determine the moisture/density relationships and gradation, and perform field <br />moisture/density tests at locations determined by Engineer. <br />B. Line and Grade Tolerance: The final aggregate base surface will be checked for <br />conformance to specified tolerances by the "stringline" method prior to approval to pave <br />the surface. Grade shall be ± 0.03 feet of grade. <br />3.04 PROTECTION <br />A. Protect aggregate base until it is covered by surface pavement. <br />B. Keep aggregate base free of ruts and irregularities until covered by surface paving. <br />C.
