3.02 DELIVERY AND STORAGE <br />A. Delivery: <br />1. Notify the Engineer of the delivery schedule in advance so the plant material may be <br />inspected upon arrival at the Site. Remove unacceptable plant material from the Site <br />immediately. <br />2. Deliver fertilizer and lime to the Site in the original, unopened containers bearing the <br />manufacturer's guaranteed chemical analysis, name, trade name or trademark, and <br />in conformance to state and federal law. In lieu of containers, fertilizer and lime may <br />be furnished in bulk and a certificate indicating the above information shall <br />accompany each delivery. <br />3. During Delivery: Protect sod from drying out and seed from contamination. <br />B. Storage: <br />1. Sprinkle sod with water and cover with moist burlap, straw, or other approved <br />covering, and protect from exposure to wind and direct sunlight. Covering should <br />permit air circulation to alleviate heat development. <br />2. Keep seed, lime, and fertilizer in dry storage away from contaminants. <br />3.03 PREPARATION <br />A. General: Conform to MnDOT Spec. 2575.3A. <br />B. Soil Preparation: Conform to MnDOT Spec. 2575.3B. <br />C. Fertilizers and Conditioners: Conform to MnDOT Spec. 2575.3C: <br />1. Apply fertilizer at a rate of 400 lbs. per acre (9.2 lbs./1,000 sq. ft.). <br />2. Where soil pH is lower than 5.5, apply lime at 3 tons per acre (140 lbs./1,000 sq. ft.). <br />3.04 SOWING SEED <br />A. Seeding Dates: Conform to MnDOT Spec. 2575.3 for the mixes specified. <br />B. Seeding Preparation and Application: Conform to MnDOT Spec 2575.3 for the mixes <br />specified. <br />3.05 PLACING SOD <br />A. Conform to MnDOT Spec. 2575.31. <br />3.06 MULCH: <br />A. Conform to Section 01 57 13. <br />3.07 EROSION CONTROL BLANKET: <br />A. Conform to Section 01 57 13. <br />3.08 HYDRAULIC SOIL STABILIZER (HYDROMULCH): <br />A.
