CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 6A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Diane Hankee, City Engineer <br />MEETING DATE: December 28, 2015 <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 15-155, Accepting Quotes and Awarding a <br />Construction Contract, 2015 Surface Water Management Project <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote Required <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Staff is requesting authorization to accept quotes and award the 2015 Surface Water <br />Management Project contract. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Quotes were received for the above -referenced project on December 19, 2015. The quotes were <br />checked for mathematical accuracy and tabulated. <br />Contractor Amount of bid <br />Dresel Contracting, Inc. $171,900.00 <br />Olson's Excavating Service $58,522.72 <br />Engineer's Opinion of Cost $70,000.00 <br />The low bid was submitted by Olson's Excavating Service, Forest Lake, Minnesota, in the <br />amount of $58,522.72. <br />The substantial completion date for this project is July 15, 2016. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends adoption of Resolution No. 15-155 accepting quotes and awarding a <br />construction contract for the 2015 Surface Water Management Project, in the amount of <br />$58,522.72 to Olson's Excavating Service. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />1.
