1.02 Referenced Standards: <br />A. The standard publications listed below and their supplements form a part of this <br />Section: <br />1. U.S. Department of Labor - Occupational Safety and Health <br />Administration (OSHA). <br />2. National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). <br />3. National Electrical Code (NEC) - Refer to NFPA 70. <br />4. American National Standards Institute, Inc. (ANSI). <br />5. The Material Handling Institute, Inc. (MHI) - Refer to Crane Operators <br />Manual. <br />6. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). <br />7. Applicable Fire Code. <br />8. Applicable Building Code. <br />9. Federal, State or Local Ordinances. <br />B. Where a standard is referenced in this Section, the subject referenced (equipment, <br />material, or work) shall be in compliance with the most recent edition of that <br />standard. <br />C. The referenced standards are minimum requirements. Where the requirements of <br />this Section are in excess of, but not contrary to, the referenced standards, <br />Contractor shall comply with the more stringent requirements. <br />1.03 Owner's Facility Safety Indoctrination: <br />A. Contractor shall obtain from Owner any safety rules and regulations in effect at <br />Owner's work site. Contractor shall be responsible for requiring all of <br />Contractor's employees to receive and ensure comprehension of this information <br />prior to beginning work. <br />B. Contractor shall keep records showing to whom this information had been given. <br />In the event there is a change in personnel or Contractor's work force, Contractor <br />is responsible for providing any new employees with this information and <br />maintaining all necessary records. <br />1.04 Permits: <br />A. At some locations, the Owner may require specific permits consistent with <br />Owners safety rules and regulations. <br />1.05 Fire Protection and Prevention: <br />A.
