STAFF ORIGINATOR: <br />MEETING DATE: <br />TOPIC: <br />VOTE REQUIRED: <br />INTRODUCTION <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 6D <br />Diane Hankee <br />September 28, 2015 <br />Consider Resolution No. 15-111, Approving Plans & <br />Specifications and Authorizing Request for Quotes, 2015 Surface <br />Water Management Project <br />Simple Majority <br />Staff is requesting council approval of plans and specifications and authorization to request <br />quotes for the 2015 Surface Water Management Project. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City operates a storm water conveyance system to manage water runoff and water quality <br />from City streets and neighborhoods. To maintain the effectiveness of the system, cleaning and <br />repair of pipe sections, catch basins, manholes, drainage ways and ponds must be completed. <br />City staff conducts's annual reviews of the system components as required by the City's <br />National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit. Project priorities are <br />determined following completion of the inspection process and evaluation of resident issues <br />identified during the year. This year's project will include pond cleaning and excavation along <br />with outlet pipe repairs from erosion. The location can be found on the enclosed map. <br />The project is estimated to be $95,000 and funding for the project is through the 2015 Public <br />Services — Streets budget. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff is recommending approval of Resolution No. 15-111 Authorizing Preparation of Plans <br />and Specifications. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />1.
