1 <br />1 <br />COUNCIL MEETING JANUARY 25, 1988 <br />The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was <br />called to order by Mayor Benson at 7:12 P.M., January 25, <br />1988. Council. Members present: Marier, Bisel, Bohjanen, <br />Reinert. Council Members absent: None. City <br />Administrator, Randy Schumacher; Engineer, Ron Stahlberg; <br />Attorney, Bill Hawkins; Planner, John Miller; Building <br />Inspector, Pete Kluegel and Clerk- Treasurer, Marilyn <br />Anderson were also present. <br />Mr. Hawkins administered the oath of office to Mr. Marier <br />who was re- -elected on November 3, 1988. <br />CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES -- JANUARY 71. 1.988 <br />Mr. Bisel moved to approve these minutes as presented. Mr. <br />. Bohjanen seconded the motion. Motion carried with Mr. <br />Marier abstaining. <br />CONSIDERATION OF DISBURSEMENTS - JANUARY 26, 1988 <br />Mr. Marier moved to approve these Disbursements as <br />presented. Mr. Bisel seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />OPEN MIKE <br />No one appeared under Open Mike. <br />CONSIDERATION OF APPOINTMENT OF OFFICIAL CITY NEWSPAPER <br />Mr. Howard Lestrud appeared before the Council to represent <br />Sell Publishing. He explained that the Forest Lake Times <br />reaches about 250 readers in Lino Lakes and there are plans <br />to sample certain mail routes to increase the circulation. <br />The Forest Lake Times will feature more human interest <br />stories from Lino Lakes and also contain more indepth news <br />coverage. Mr. Lestrud also noted that a substantial portion <br />of Lino Lakes is in the Forest Lake School District and the <br />Times is the official newspaper for the school district. <br />The Anoka County Union Shopper sent a letter to the City <br />Council requesting that they be considered as the Lino Lakes <br />legal newspaper. A representative was not present. <br />Ms. Charlene Bergerson appeared before the Council to <br />represent the Circulating Pines. There are 179 paid <br />t53 <br />
