LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br />MARCH 4, 2020 <br />Councilmember McGinn, seconded by Councilmember Nelson, moved TO APPROVE <br />RESOLUTION 2020-024 WHICHAPPROVESA CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF <br />LAKE ELMO AND TRAIL SOURCE LLC FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF TRAILS <br />WITHINSUNFISHLAKE PARK. Motion passed 4 — 0. <br />ITEM 17: Preliminary Denial of Comcast Proposal <br />Assistant City Administrator Dickson reviewed the proposed Resolution for preliminary denial <br />of the Comcast Cable Franchise Agreement. <br />Tim Finnerty, Cable Commission Executive Director, commented on the Cable Commission's <br />recommendation that the preliminary assessment should not be renewed. <br />Karly Werner, Sr. Director of Governmental Affairs for Comcast, commented on Comcast's <br />position that the proposed agreement. <br />Councilmember Nelson, seconded by Mayor Pearson, moved TO ADOPT RESOLUTION <br />2020-025 APPROVING THE PRELIMINARYASSESSMENT THAT THE COMCAST OF <br />MINNESOTA, INC CABLE FRANCHISE SHOULD NOT BE RENEWED. Motion passed 4 <br />—0. <br />ITEM 18: Animal Ordinance Updates <br />City Clerk Johnson reported that the recommended updates to the animal ordinance would <br />remove the requirement for licensing dogs and to bring the City's ordinances in compliance with <br />state law relating to dangerous and potentially dangerous dogs. <br />Mayor Pearson, seconded by Councilmember McGinn, moved TO ADOPT ORDINANCE 08- <br />234 AMENDING CHAPTER 95 OF THE LAKE ELMO CITY CODE AND RESOLUTION <br />2 02 0- 02 6 A UTHORIZING SUMMA R Y PUBLICA TION OF ORDINANCE 08-234 <br />ITEM 19: Accept Deputy Clerk Resignation and Approve Hire <br />Councilmember Dorschner, seconded by Councilmember Nelson, MOVED TO ACCEPT <br />ALEX SAXE'S RESIGNATION, AND HIRE KYLA RIPPEYAS DEPUTY CLERK <br />PENDING BACKGROUND CHECK AND DRUG TEST, ATAN HOURLY WAGE OF <br />$25.61. Motion passed 4 — 0. <br />ITEM 20: Accept Building Official Resignation <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />
