Parks are located so that all neighborhoods have a local park. <br />B. Parks are connected to each other and to other land uses by trails. <br />C. A centrally located park serves as the heart of Lake Elmo and as a community <br />gathering place and landmark. <br />D. Parks provide for multiple uses and for multiple users within one environment. Parks <br />are well -suited to a diversity of interests and abilities including those of children, <br />adults and senior citizens. Parks encourage a diverse range of positive activities and <br />community interaction, including sports, arts, music, festivals, informal and formal <br />gatherings, picnicking, solitude, people -watching, nature appreciation and other park <br />activities. <br />E. Theme -specific parks accessible to all Lake Elmo residents provide for special uses. <br />F. Natural spaces within parks are stewarded to protect natural resources, biodiversity <br />and habitat and to foster enjoyment of nature. <br />G. Parks are designed around unique features and natural resources. Water features <br />are valued elements of the park system. <br />H.
