Cross-reference: <br />Waste Water Treatment Systems, see Ch. 5.08 <br />Water, see Ch. 5.04 <br />GARBAGE, REFUSE, WASTE MATERIALS, AND RECYCLING <br />5.12.010 PURPOSE. <br />The general purpose of LEC 5.12.010 et seq. is for the following: <br />(A) To protect the public health, safety, comfort, convenience, and general welfare of the <br />residents of the city; <br />(B) To establish powers, duties, rules, regulations, and standards for the removal of solid <br />waste from the city; <br />(C) To promote a program to reduce waste materials purchased and promote yard waste <br />reduction through separation of recyclables, yard and gar -den wastes; and encourages the <br />purchasing of products that contain recycled or recyclable materials; <br />(D) To set minimum standards and requirements established by rules of the Minnesota <br />Pollution Control Agency; <br />(E) To adopt the plans, policies, rules, standards, and requirements of the Aletropelit <br />Cetinei Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and Washington County regarding solid waste; and <br />(F) To provide for the administration of LEC 5.12.010 et seq. <br />5.12.020 STATE RULES ADOPTED. <br />Solid Waste Rules 7035 of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, as they may be amended <br />from time to time, are hereby adopted by reference as part of LEC 5.12.010 et seq., as they apply <br />to cities. <br />-5.12.030 METROPOLITAN COUNC4 MINNESOTA POLLUTION CONTROL <br />AGENCY PLAN ADOPTED. <br />The Metropolitan Solid Waste Management Deyelepfnen �•��a��Policy Xan-2016-2036 of th <br />Metr-epolitan Ceiineil ef the Twin Cities Area, adopted Mar-ch 1985, Pubheation No. 12 85 059, <br />LA515-1-791400.v1 <br />
