10/16/23, 9:58 AM Print Preview <br />https://lakeelmo.municipalcodeonline.com/book/print?type=ordinances&name=TITLE_7_TRAFFIC_AND_VEHICLES 1/7 <br />TITLE 7 TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES <br />CHAPTER 7.04 SNOWMOBILES, ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLES, AND GOLF CARTS <br />CHAPTER 7.08 TRAFFIC REGULATIONS <br />CHAPTER 7.12 PARKING REGULATIONS <br />CHAPTER 7.16 PARKING SCHEDULES <br />CHAPTER 7.20 TRAFFIC SCHEDULES <br />CHAPTER 7.04 SNOWMOBILES, ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLES, AND GOLF CARTS <br />7.04.010 Incorporation By Reference <br />7.04.020 Regulations <br />7.04.030 Golf Carts <br />7.04.010 Incorporation By Reference <br />Provisions of M.S.A. §§ 84.81 to 84.915, as amended from time to time, shall be applicable to the City. <br />In those cases where there is a conflict between the provisions of M.S.A. §§ 84.81 to 84.915 and this <br />chapter, the more restrictive regulation shall apply. <br />HISTORY <br />Adopted by Ord. 08-253 on 11/3/2021 <br />7.04.020 Regulations <br />(a)No person shall operate a snowmobile or all-terrain vehicle on a public sidewalk or upon any <br />public park or playground. <br />(b)No person shall operate a snowmobile on city streets except for when traveling in the most right- <br />hand lane available for automobile traffic or as close as practicable to the right-hand curb or <br />edge of the roadway and when traveling in the same direction as automobile traffic in that lane. <br />(c)No person shall operate a snowmobile in the ditch except in the ditch bottom or outside slope of <br />any drainage ditch which lies within and runs parallel to any city controlled public road <br />easement. <br />(d)No person shall ride a snowmobile in the right of way as a substitute for trail riding. Travel in the <br />right of way shall be used to reach a destination such as a trail, public body of water, public <br />gathering place, residence, etc. <br />(e)No person shall operate a snowmobile or all-terrain vehicle between the hours of midnight and <br />7:00 a.m. provided that all-terrain vehicles may be used for snow plowing purposes during <br />prohibited hours. <br />(f)No person shall operate a snowmobile or all-terrain vehicle within ten (10) feet of a residential <br />dwelling unless such operation occurs on property owned or occupied by the operator of the <br />snowmobile or all-terrain vehicle and such operation is for the purpose of accessing a public <br />right-of-way from private property. <br />HISTORY <br />Amended by Ord. 08-217 on 8/8/2018 <br />Adopted by Ord. 08-253 on 11/3/2021 <br />7.04.030 Golf Carts <br />(a)Permit required. No golf cart may be operated on a street, alley, sidewalk, or other public <br />property without first obtaining a permit from the city.
