Except as expressly provided <br />elsewhere, signs shall meet the following regulations according to sign type: <br />1. Wall signs shall be mounted parallel to building walls and only on a portion of an <br />exterior wall that is coterminous with the occupancy to which the sign refers, unless a different <br />location is identified in an approved comprehensive sign plan pursuant to subsection (i) of this <br />section. No wall sign shall extend above or beyond the wall to which it is attached. <br />b) Installation requirements. No wall sign shall cover or interrupt significant architectural <br />elements such as columns, column caps, fi-iezes, door or window heads, embellishments, <br />adornments, fenestration, or ornamental detailing on any building. All mounting brackets and <br />other hardware used to affix a sign to a wall as well as all electrical service hardware and <br />equipment shall be concealed by architectural elements of the building or the sign itself. <br />2.
