The base of the monument sign shall not exceed the width of the <br />widest portion of the sign face by more than 25 percent. <br />b) Location. Ground signs shall be placed with consideration for visibility, access, <br />maintenance, and safety, consistent with the provisions of paragraph subseetion-(f)(2) of this <br />section. Ground signs shall be located beyond required setbacks a distance equal to or greater <br />than the height of the sign. If this is not possible, ground signs shall be located as far from <br />required setback lines as possible. In no case shall a ground sign, as defined in this section, <br />extend beyond a lot line of a property. A ground sign larger than six square feet shall be located <br />no closer than 100 feet of another ground sign or the furthest distance possible from another <br />ground sign, whichever distance is shorter. <br />c) Height. <br />1. The height of a ground sign shall be measured from the approved grade at the base <br />of the sign or the elevation of the street upon which the sign faces, whichever is <br />lower, to the top of the highest attached component of the sign. <br />2. Perennial plantings, grass or other landscaping features shall be incorporated <br />around the base of all ground signs. <br />d) Exempt or special purpose ground signs.
