ResponseID Response
25 I would prefer it to remain the quaint small town that it is, I moved here from Woodbury
to escape the crazy development and I would hope the city doesn't steer that direction
and maintains the small town feel.
27 That full area around the old city buildings could be made into something so nice vs
garages and boat storage and old run down pole sheds. Needs a master plan vs piece
mealing it all just in the middle. The area looks run down. And the dealership is prime
spot for some non-residential development. People moved to LE vs Woodbury or
Stillwater to get away from apartment buildings and high density housing like row
homes.
33 Keep adding things that will bring people downtown.
38 It's missing a commerce center. It had the potential but the business mix is way off and it
doesn't drive people to spend much time downtown LE
39 Modern updates took away small town feeling. No longer a village.
40 Right now the main 'drag' has little to attract people to spend a day or even more than a
few minutes walking around, in comparison to our neighbor Stillwater.
42 love living here. cant wait for LE to move into the 21st century and modernize.
43 Please keep the small town charm so we can have events like the Christmas event and
the 4th of July parade. Please don't put in huge apartment buildings and ruin the
atmosphere downtown. Consider the HUNDREDS of families that have moved here and
walk downtown daily. A better playground and a water amenity would be SO nice. There
are smart water ways to make this successful.
48 Excited for our future here
54 Keep the historic downtown looking historic. Modern buildings and multi-level
apartments do not belong here. More green space is needed.
56 Lot's but too much to type...you can reach me at krsmith01@gmail.com
58 Please do something about the Fury business area. It should not be located here.
60 Need to improve traffic flow in downtown lake Elmo
61 If the city really cares, they will quit trying to development Lake Elmo into a major
metropolitan city. Keep the small town feel…it's why we relocated from Woodbury.
71 I am hopeful it wont end up with explosive development like woodbury has. I'd like to see
some new restaurants and businesses that respect the integrity of this small historic
area.
23. Do you have any other thoughts or comments about the Village area?
