1129 I hope the character and history of the village can be preserved--and carried forward.
(Woodbury is utterly lacking in this and should be a cautionary example.) The housing
developments surrounding the village have spread alarmingly quickly and destroyed
some of the rural charm of this lovely area; I hope that kind of development can be
paused.
1130 Really want to see it grow along side the community. Amazing opportunity to have an
amazing city center unlike a vast majority of cities in the area while still having modern
amenities and keeping the historic charm.
1131 It's a shame the farm is being developed into vast tracks of housing - we moved to Lake
Elmo in 2020 mainly due to it's stance on RURAL living. That blew right out the window
- thumbs up!
1133 Different scale and housing only outside of the historic downtown (Klondike east to
Hagberg's grocery store). Contact Angie Hong - Stillwater gazette. Ideas about better
development. Difference between original historic downtown and Village study area.
Work closely with VBWSD. What vs Should be built. What is the drinking water
situation? The more the city grows the more taxes we pay and less desirable the city
becomes. Just ask the new Lake Elmo residents who fled Woodbury. One level senior
townhomes. Lake Elmo should never become Woodbury North. What is the future of LE
school and Fury site? Change the OV plan. Protect and preserve the historic area. Once
it's gone it's gone forever. How will the County trail impact the OV? Quality of life not
how much revenue can the City get from developments.
1135 Like yo keep the characteristics of small town feel, but wish we had sidewalk access into
the area instead of always driving just 1/2 mile down the main busy road
1138 Please don't turn it into a mini woodbury. Keep the charm
1144 I hope it doesn't become too congested. Lake Elmo Ave through the business area is
already quite busy with vehicle traffic. Large apartment buildings don't belong in that
area.
1145 Plan, organize, execute and control. Let's plan for a walkable, aesthetically appealing
village. Organize the business and housing types for organic development. Execute with
tax incentives. Control and work the plan with developers. We had a plan 30 years ago, I
hope someone has a copy.
1147 Please consider the types of businesses in the area.. we need reasons for people to come
downtown & STAY downtown… versus come to eat at the inn and leave
1149 So much potential. Keep involving everyone. Pick a cohesive plan that will look timeless.
THANKS !!
1156 No
1160 Just crosswalks. I won't let my kids go by themselves. And sidewalks!
ResponseID Response
