The consultant has completed the assessment and submitted the final operations report. The <br />report includes findings, recommendations, benchmarking and implementation strategies aimed <br />at strengthening organizational effectiveness and planning for the future of the department. The <br />final report incorporates feedback and support from management staff. City Staff have been an <br />active participant in this process and fully support the report and its recommendations. Staff <br />believe the recommendations are practical, achievable, and aligned with the City’s long-term <br />goals. Staff is satisfied with the final report and will begin to utilize the implementation plan to <br />move the department forward. <br />Acceptance of this report does not constitute adoption of all recommendations but formally <br />acknowledges receipt of the completed report and provides a strong foundation to move forward <br />with operational improvements that will enhance efficiency, services delivery, operational <br />effectiveness and improve department culture. Next steps will include staff creating a workplan <br />to implement the recommendations. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />The recommendations for staffing have been included in the 2026 budget. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff is recommending that the City Council accept the Public Works Operational Assessment <br />Report.
