As stated by Washington County, “Wastes containing perfluoro -alkyl Substances (PFAS), also known as <br />perfluorochemicals (PFCs) were disposed of by the 3M Company at the 3M disposal sites in Oakdale, Woodbury, and Cottage Grove, and the former Washington County Landfill in Lake Elmo. PFAS were <br />released from the sites, resulting in contamination of groundwater and nearby drinking water wells ”. <br />Scenarios 1, 2, 3, and 4 <br />The AUAR study area is in an area known to contain PFAS groundwater contamination and as a result any development must be served by municipal water. Additionally, given the known contamination in <br />the area a Response Action Plan (RAP) must be developed for any construction in the AUAR study area, and a Construction Contingency Plan (CCP) will be prepared and implemented during <br />construction.
